About Me
My name is Sven — or Seven, as some people know me from the past.
The name sevenindc for this website was born from a simple truth: very few people pronounce “Sven” correctly. Hidden inside the number seven is my name — , just without the first “e.” And since I am located in DC…
It felt natural, memorable, and it reflects the way I see my work: thoughtful, intentional, and slightly unconventional.
I have been working as an architect since 1997, and from the very beginning, photography has been part of my professional life. Architectural photography was a natural extension of my work — understanding buildings not only as structures, but as spaces shaped by light, proportion, and atmosphere. My architectural background continues to influence the way I compose images, pay attention to detail, and tell visual stories.
About ten years ago, photography became something even more personal. I began photographing weddings for friends and friends of friends — and I fell in love with it. Weddings combine everything I value as a photographer: human connection, emotion, timing, and trust. I love capturing real moments, quiet glances, laughter, and the unique energy of a day that will never repeat itself.
In recent years, I have also expanded into real estate and architectural photography, a field where my experience as an architect truly comes full circle. I enjoy helping clients present spaces honestly and beautifully, and I am excited to grow this part of my work and take on new projects in Washington, DC and the surrounding area.
My journey to the United States is deeply connected to a love story. I first met my wife* about 40 years ago here in McLean, VA. After losing touch for more than three decades, she found me again on Facebook in 2016, met in Paris in 2017, and one year later, we got married in NewYork. Life has a remarkable way of coming full circle — and that belief shapes how I see people, places, and moments through my camera.
Today, photography brings together my past and present: architecture and emotion, structure and spontaneity. Whether I am photographing a wedding, a home, or a space, my goal is always the same — to create images that feel honest, timeless, and meaningful.
Driven by passion
My journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, I have focused on staying true to my values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.
This isn’t just a business—it’s a reflection of what I believe in. I am here to create work that matters, led by a shared commitment to quality and care.
